Objective.
This is a sports science and data visualization video created to promote the sport of fencing. Based on the theme “The Art and Physics of Professional Sports,” use animated HUD graphics to simulate real-time data visualizations that analyze an athlete’s movements and resulting forces captured in slow motion. Well-designed HUD will visualize the data generated by an athlete’s movements and resulting forces like capturing athletes’ fencing track, action track, close-ups view of hitting targets, body function data and so on. This video can give people a more intuitive visual experience and a preliminary understanding of fencing.

PROCESS
STEP I
Do research into fencing - An in-depth research of fencing, including but not limited to fencing action, fencing process, competition rules, sports characteristics, and fencer physical response.

STEP II
Make various parts needed for visual design respectively, such as logo animation, heartbeat, pulse, body function table, radar scanning, energy ring, energy ring and tracking fencing track. ( Visual Colours: There are two primary and four additional colours used for the video. The primary colour is bright orange and blue, which matches the sports theme and gives vitality to the video. The secondary palette has four colours. Red, Bluish Green, Bright red and blue for highlight. The red colour and Bluish Green will be applied to the scene of two athletes fighting scene. It can create an intense atmosphere of sports competition and enhance the visual effect. Highlight colour will mainly use for the tech panel which shows some detailed information.)
